Ringsy is made by one person. Email goes straight to my inbox, and I am the one who answers.

Setting a ringtone on iOS 26

After saving, tap “Set as ringtone”. In the share sheet, choose “Use as Ringtone” — you may need to scroll the row of actions to see it.

The tone then appears in Settings › Sounds & Haptics › Ringtone.

Setting a ringtone on iOS 17–18

Before iOS 26, iPhone only accepts custom ringtones through Apple’s free GarageBand app. Ringsy shows a step-by-step guide right after saving.

On a Mac? Share the .m4r file and drag it onto your iPhone in Finder.

Text tones and alerts

Set the tone as a ringtone first — that adds it to your iPhone’s sounds. Then open Settings › Sounds & Haptics, tap Text Tone (or Reminder Alerts, New Mail…) and pick it at the top of the list.

Only for one person? Open their contact, tap Edit, then Ringtone or Text Tone.

A file won’t open

Ringsy opens mp3, m4a, wav, aiff, flac and most videos. Apple Music songs and iTunes purchases are copy-protected (DRM) and cannot be used.

A file stored in iCloud that isn’t downloaded yet may take a few seconds to download first.

Recording doesn’t work

Check Settings › Ringsy › Microphone and allow access.

Restoring your purchase

New phone or reinstalled the app: open Ringsy, go to Settings and tap Restore purchase. You need a connection and the same Apple account you bought with.

Ringsy Unlimited is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is nothing to cancel.

Reporting a bug

Email me your iPhone model, iOS version, the kind of file you used and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot helps a lot.
